Skillywidden – a nos lowen (Cornish dance night) beneath the stars.
Legends of Cornish Celtic dance music Skillywidden frequently pack dance floors with their take on the nos lowen style of Cornish dance music.
If you feel like dancing, just jump up and have a go – no previous experience needed.
Most of the dances are simple enough to pick up just by following people who already know them. Alternatively, just have a listen, and soak up the sound of Cornish traditional music at its best.
The line-up includes members of internationally acclaimed Cornish traditional music band Dalla on bouzouki, fiddle, clarinets, viola and percussion, with the addition of guest musicians drawn from the cream of Cornwall’s talent in other genres.
Their exhilarating performances convey the sheer joy they take in Cornwall’s indigenous culture.
“Sublime …a kind of World Music with a Cornish accent” (Rock ‘n’ Reel)
“The music has a dervish quality that will grab the listener by the throat.” (Folk and Roots)
