Adapted by Laura Eason. Based on the novel by Jules Verne.
After last season’s hugely successful show ‘THE VICAR OF DIBLEY’, Seven Stones Theatre Company are delighted to be returning to Penlee Park Theatre for this season, having been awarded the rights to present this classic, yet quintessential tale of aristocratic tomfoolery and adventure ‘AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS’.
Based in the Victorian times of the late 1800’s, obsessive and impulsive English gentleman, Phileas Fogg accepts the challenge of his whist playing colleagues to travel around the work in 80 days or loose £20,000. (an incredible amount of money in the 1870’s).
Just before Fogg sets off with his trusty new companion Passepartout, The Bank Of England is robbed to tune of the same amount!
Is this purely coincidence?
Will Inspector Fix get the to bottom of the crime and pin it on Fogg?
Is Fogg innocent?
Will Fogg make it, or be beaten by his adventures?
With a stunning array of characters traveling through a plethora of countries, circumnavigating the globe we have to ask how can this be achieved at Penlee Park Open Air Theatre?
THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT !
